“School for the Stupid”
“Only dumb kids go to alternative”. People often perceive our high school to be a school for delinquents. Haysville has two high schools, Haysville High, for the dumb students and failures, and Campus, for the normal students with normal needs. Haysville High is an alternative program in Haysville for students who struggle in a traditional school environment. Campus is the traditional high school in Haysville and is the default school for all Haysville students transitioning from middle school to high school. Haysville High is better than Campus because of the environment, consequences, and people.

Firstly, Haysville High is very stringent compared to Campus. For instance, at Campus a student can be on their phone whenever they want, but at Haysville High a student can only have their phone out during passing period or lunch time. If a student does have their phone out during class it results in an automatic referral and an hour of detention. Therefore, Haysville High is stringent while Campus is lenient. Secondly, Haysville High has clear, understandable rules while Campus’ rules vary from student to student. Specifically, if one of the more “popular” students gets in trouble at Campus, it is usually just a slap on the wrist. Meanwhile, if one of the regular students gets in trouble, they get the justified amount of discipline. As you can see, Haysville High is fair and equal while Campus is bias and underhanded. In addition, Haysville High students are held accountable while Campus is inadvertently letting irresponsibility grow. Precisely, too many incidents go unnoticed at Campus because they are not big enough for the administration to take an interest in, but every little thing at Haysville High gets noticed and taken care of as soon as possible. Firstly, Haysville High is a tight-knit community. Specifically, everybody knows everybody, but at Campus you know maybe a quarter of your graduating class. Thus, it is easier to build friendships at Haysville High. Secondly, students at Haysville High are responsible and respectful to each other and teachers. More importantly, students at Haysville High are not piled on top of each other like roaches. Campus classrooms are too full and that often creates unnecessary tension. As a result, Haysville High students are able to keep their calm demeanor and make good decisions. Thirdly, the Haysville High student body is more mature than the Campus student body. For example, most Campus students are extremely immature and enjoy conflict between others or themselves and another student. Meanwhile, Haysville High students are too focused on the bigger picture to be bothered with pointless drama. Therefore, Haysville High students are more mature than students at Campus. In brief, the students at Haysville High have a different mindset than the students at Campus do.
