A parliamentary system will give the people of Dude-K a head of state, a president who will be elected directly by the public, and a head of government, a prime minister who will be elected from the legislature and reflect the balance of power between parties in the legislature. The president will represent the country in international relations and bring forward ideas for policy. Prime ministers translate presidential policy suggestions into legislation and make sure the laws that the president puts forward are constitutional. The prime minister and the president will need to work closely together to pass legislation that will benefit the people of Dude-k, but they will also act as checks on each other; presidents make sure that prime ministers do not gain too much power and vice versa.
