Drunk Rider Case Study

Decent Essays
The fact is that drunk riders can get sick in your vehicle. Watch the situation and if you think they are feeling sick, give them water and a vomit bag. If it nevertheless happens, finish the ride, turn off drive mode, drive somewhere where you can safely stop and take several photos of the damage before you clean it up and destroy the evidence. Uber will reimburse for the cleanup, but you have to give them evidence of what happened. If you go ahead and clean up before taking pictures, there’ll probably be not much damage to see. Vomit not only smells awful but it also seeps into the seams and carpets and if not properly cleaned up, can linger on as an unpleasant odor.
Take a few good, clear photos of the damage and at nighttime, make sure you have good enough lighting in your photos. You’ll have a hard time trying to get compensation for the cleanup if you’re unable to prove it with photos. Uber would like to see photos from three different angles.

A rider may pull something off or break something in your car. Again, take accurate photos or, if you happen to have dash cam and had it on, it may show you what happened. In any case, submit your claim to Uber.
Uber evaluates each case separately and their policy generally seems to be that you will get reimbursement, if they get the rider to pay for the damage. If you have to have your car professionally cleaned, make sure to submit a copy or photo of the receipt to Uber, as well. You may not receive full reimbursement, but something is better than nothing.
If the damage is on the outside of your car, again, take good, clear photos and submit your claim to Uber. If it is vomit on your car, you will then want to clean it or have it cleaned as soon as possible. Acids and paint do not mix, so stomach acids can harm your paint.
Note: If you fail to take photos, your claim will most likely be automatically denied. The same goes, if you do not have clear

On Sunday 06/19/16 at 0008 hours I was dispatched to Green River Community College located at 12401 SE 320TH ST in the City of Auburn, King Co, WA for a recovery of a stolen vehicle. Dispatch advised a Kent Police Officer who is part of the Auto Theft Task Force, stated there was possible an unoccupied blue Ford pickup with an Idaho plate, but unknown what the number was. Officer T. Nunn arrived to assist me in searching the parking lot of the college and informed me that the truck was possibly related to this case. Officer Nunn went on to say Auburn Police detective D. Burney had put out an "Attempt to Locate/BOLO for a stolen 2005 blue Ford F-250 ID/K17560T". I later printed a copy of the BOLO and included it in the case jacket.…

So after I watched the “Lives Affected Video” I started to think about how dangerous drunk and drinking drivers really are. As I started to think some more I realized that I think there are more drunk and drinking drivers than we think and that we are lucky that more people haven’t gotten hurt. There are impacts that drunk drivers have on innocent people and that they are in danger just because a drunk man/woman decided to get on the road ways and drive him/herself home. If an accident did occur then not only would the victim’s lives and in some cases their loved ones lives be impacted by the drunk driver but the drunk driver’s life would have been impacted by the crash.…

This means that your insurance company must cover your medical expense and lost income even when the other person is at fault. The only way the other driver may have to pay for the costs is if there is a serious injury. To meet this requirement, you would have to have significant scarring, permanent injuries or disfigurements. Since these descriptions are fairly vague, the courts would have to figure out if your injuries fit the “serious injury” threshold.…

I was headed out with some colleagues after work to have a drink and just relax, so I decided to leave my car at the office and take an Uber home from the bar. I have always heard wonderful things about Uber drivers and how they kept their cars clean. It was a fun night relaxing and not worrying about work, but it was getting late, and I needed to get home to bed, so I called an Uber ready for a quiet ride home. The car pulled up, and it was a new Nissan Altima, the dark blue paint sparkled in the street light. I stepped off the sidewalk and opened the rear passenger door to get in so I could get home…

Uber is an American international transportation network company. The company operates the service through the Uber mobile app, through which consumers with smartphones submit a trip request that is then forwarded to Uber drivers who use their own cars to take the consumer from point A to point B. Since the launch of Uber many companies have copied the business’s ideology (e.g. Lyft, Sidecar, BlackJet etc.) and that growing trend is called Uberification. The problems stated by NELP in the article show that the subject are the contract workers that work for these type of companies. The first problem that the article suggests is the lack of benefits. Since the company doesn’t think of these workers as employees but as independent contractors…
