According to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (2015, para. 1), “An average drunk driver has driven drunk over 80 times before first arrest.” For a person to drive drunk over eighty times before getting arrested is ridiculous. It is like these drunk drivers are making a career out of this. They are becoming better and better at it. Why would a person want to risk everything by doing something so stupid? If a person gets charged with a DUI, they have to pay expensive court costs, fines, and participate in community service. Drunk driving costs each adult in the United States $500 dollars and costs the United States 132 billion dollars each year (Mothers Against Drunk Driving, 2015). Like I said, slap someone if they ever think that it is okay to get behind the wheel if they are drunk. Drinking and driving is probably the worst thing that a person can do. A person is putting everything on the line if they decide to drink and drive. Drinking and driving can lead to a person getting arrested and charged with a DUI or a DWI. The cost of what happens after getting arrested is not even worth drinking and driving. The Ignition Interlock Device is just as embarrassing as an ugly mug shot. The device pretty much ruins a person’s chance of drinking again until the device is removed from the car. Lastly, drinking and driving is bad because you can lose your life or even worse, you can kill somebody in a car accident. I cannot imagine killing someone because I want to be stupid and drive under the influence of alcohol. No one deserves to die in the hands of a drunk driver. Always remember my advice, slap someone if they ever think about drinking and driving. It will help, I
