Drunk driving has become a huge problem in recent years. In 2015 alone, 10,256 people died in accidents related to drunk driving, accidents that occurred every 51 minutes (Madd). 290,000 people were injured in these accidents (Madd). Though most of the crashes were due to poor decision making, the toll of these deaths and injuries change thousands of lives, including those of the family and friends of the person injured or killed and the drunk driver. Binge drinking does not only have an effect on people’s lives and well being though. It also costs each individual American almost $800 per year (Intoxalock).
