Drinking and driving is a serious issue in the contemporary society. This act of driving in a drunken state is responsible for thousands of lives every single year. Children women pedestrians, other drivers, buildings, nothing is safe when it comes in front of drunk drivers. Drunk driving can or can’t be stopped this controversial debate has been active for several years. Some believe that theoretically, drunk driving can be stopped but when we will try to implement a practical plan, no proposal is good enough to cut down the extent of drunk driving. On the other hand, the opponents believe that drunk driving is a serious threat to humans, and there are promising ways to ensure the happening of drunk driving. The supporters believe that there must be a no tolerance policy to ensure nobody is driving while drunk. When it comes to the drunk driving, the drivers like any other murderer is taking lives of thousands of innocent people every single year than why not they are not charged with the murders like other criminals charged with death penalty. The supports believe that any kind of flexibility will leave gaps that will be exploited by the drunk drivers.
The policy makers must come with a legislative solution to put an end to the drunk driving at once. This is not a gradual process an abrupt change in the policy is required to ensure nobody is behind the steering wheel with alcohol in the body.
