Drunk Driving Persuasive Essay

You’re drowning in stress, and feel like it’s not going to get better. You need an escape, alcohol may be your best option. Getting drunk brings your mood up and makes you happy. But you know what’s even better? Driving drunk. Many people have experienced this amazing feeling. You get to go down the road driving faster than the speed of light, it feels incredible. (Hyperbole) You see the road in a blur swerving to stay in your lane, there’s nothing better. In 2015 driving sober left 10,265 people dead. Sober people feel as though they make better decisions but they’ve killed too many drunk drivers. Therefore, more people need to drive drunk to reduce the risk of deaths on the roads. Due to the recent rise in car accidents, parents are more scared for their children today than ever before. In 2013, 200 out of 1,149 teens were killed by drunk driving. But, the majority were killed in accidents that didn’t involve alcohol at all. So it’s just foolish to drive sober when so many people die. Also, more and more people are being charged with drunk driving after an accident with a so-called innocent person. When sober drivers kill drunk people it creates an empty place in families, a child who no longer has a parent, a father who no longer has a daughter, and a sister who no longer has a brother. But, the worst part is that sober people feel as though they were not at fault. Like its not their fault they were driving the speed limit when a drunk person walked out in front of them. (Sarcasm) When these drunk citizens are killed it leaves a daughter without an escort to the father daughter dance, and forces parents to plan a funeral far too soon. To prevent the loss of a loved one sober people should call a taxi or take public transportation, there’s no reason to drive
