Drummer Boy Of Shiloh Symbolism

In the short story “Drummer Boy of Shiloh,” the author Ray Bradbury uses the settings and the characters to show symbolisms in the most interesting ways. Some of the symbolisms in this short story are in plain view. The drum along with the general and the peach blossoms are some of the most important symbolisms. The drum is a major symbolism because the drum is the symbolisation of the heart of the army. With the drum being the heart of the army, it shows that even though it may not look like the best position, it is still important. The drum keeps the soldiers in the army at the correct pace when marching into battle while the General can’t. With these examples, it is very clear that the drum is a very important symbolism.
