My lifetime goal is to be an actor. I love to perform. There is this unexplainable feeling I get whenever the stage lights are on my face. Now, the question is how am I going to get there? I have applied myself all throughout high school by being a hardworking student, as well as a leader for many organizations at my high school. I am a drum major for our marching band. Our band has qualified for the State Marching Contest in San Antonio two out of two possible times in my high school career. Being drum major teaches you a number of things. For example, it brings to light that everyone is not like you. They are not as motivated, and they don’t have the same passion and drive as you. Being a drum major also teaches you how to approach people, and say the right thing. You also learn how …show more content…
No matter how many times I get told that, I still don’t believe it. I feel that there is so much more growth in my acting capabilities. My junior year in theatre has been the most memorable thus far. We advanced all the way to Regionals for UIL One Act Play; where we were two schools behind making State. That moment was upsetting; however, I realized that there was so much more I could have done to be better.I received three All-Star Cast awards along the way. The character I portrayed pushed me to my limits. My high school education has taught me many valuable life lessons. It has taught me the art of patients, as well as understanding. Personally, I think my constant strive to be better at what I love to do says a lot about me and shows my determination. My parents have always said the talent will only get you so far and that hard work and dedication is what will get you all the way. Being a part of theater for about 5 years now has also taught me a lot about empathy and working as a team. Learning how to embody and live as someone else for just a little while has made me a more empathetic person outside of the theater and made me more understanding to those who live differently than I do or have different beliefs and values. Rehearsing and performing with the same group of people for 4 weeks to even a few months can bring people quite close.…

“Acting is the ability to live truthfully under the given imaginary circumstances,” says Sanford Meisner. One of the careers that has stagnated to one of the most admirable jobs in the eyes of teens is acting. Acting, defined as the art or occupation of performing in plays, movies, or television productions as a job that can take place in all forms of media. The job can be hard to accomplish and gain a good reputation to perform the part right every time, which can be hard to stay calm and collected through the daily stresses. Pursuing a career in acting, a job field that is continuing to grow in popularity, can be both fun and frustrating.…

But, it’s not just the previous drum majors I was influenced by; Nick, Michael, Vy, Mr. Sebastian, and my wonderful section leader Sarah also inspired me too. However, many previous drum majors had set the standards at a high level and it's my privilege and responsibility to maintain the tradition but at the same time help the band improve through words of encouragements. Even though I may not have a recognizable leadership position prior to this, one reason out of many reasons why I would be a successful leader is that I am very understanding with the people I’m working with. I know how to deal with problems that band members usually face because I was in the same position as they were, therefore, I will try my best to help them with any problems they might have as well as constantly learning from my fellow bandos to make self improvements. My goal is to motivate and inspire every member to keep pushing and practicing because if they strive for it, they will become successful.…

When I first started practicing musical theatre, so many people, my Parents, friends, they all said that doing something like this would be impossible. Everyone has their own view points of what an individual could be capable of doing. But, no one can tell you what you are and aren’t capable of doing, and accomplishing such feats are entirely up to you. You just have to put your mind up to the task, and once you do that anything’s possible. I remember a few years back I finally told my parents that I was interested in pursuing a career in the arts.…

What does theatre mean to me? As I review the questions provided for me to include in my goal statement, I feel lucky to express how theatre is unique to me and how I structure my everyday life around the dramatic arts. Anytime I act, I relish in the opportunity to be a leader, to help people, and to accomplish my actions with confidence. I started off with this philosophy at an early age and have not forgotten about it since. In my opinion, acting is not solely about the individual’s performance, but about how an individual actor can use their confidence and passion to impact other actors, enhance a production, and inspire the audience.…

My entire life I have always wanted to do something where I would be remembered positively by many people. I recall always telling myself I was going to become a backup dancer for a famous singer, become a singer myself, or maybe an actress. Better yet, I thought I could have been all three. As I entered middle school, I realized those goals were too surreal to even become the slightest bit possible, mainly since I am located in an area that most people haven’t even heard of. Back then, I was very uncertain about any career goals I have had.…
