All cosmetic products are made up of the same things: fillers, fragrances, emollients, moisturizers, minerals, binders, preservatives, sunscreens, and other compounds along with color ( Drugstore vs Department store...). Although drugstore products do tend to have slightly more fillers than high end products, everything else is the same for the most part (What are the pros and cons...). Drugstore products tend to come in cheaper, less extravagant packaging while department store products tend to have very presentable, flashy packaging completed with a recognizable logo. Just like with clothes and designer handbags, if you want to carry a foundation with Chanel’s name on it, you are going to have to pay more.
