Not many shelters are available for them to take refuge in. However, the shelters that are available, fill up quickly. Moreover, there are shelters that open during the colder months of the year, but as soon as it starts warming up these addicts are back to sleeping on the streets. It all relates the fact that there simply isn’t enough funding for these shelters to stay open. People condemn the drug addict, which yes, it is their fault, although they can’t control it after so many months or even years of using. It becomes a way of life for them. Instead of punishing them by not allowing them a place to stay society should be helping them become clean. These drug addicts hurt anyone in their paths, even younger children who have never used before. They will start them out simple then before anyone knows it that child will be addicted to class A drugs.
