Ever since I was little, I have always been around drug and alcohol abuse. My great-uncle was always doing some type of drug, and I was always told to stay away from him. Just here recently, he overdosed and I finally got to hear his full story. When he was a teenager, he started hanging out with the “wrong crowd” and got caught smoking marijuana. My grandma (his sister) said he was always babied and didn’t get much discipline, so therefor he never stopped smoking. Marijuana turned into heroin and everything in between. He started dating a girl who was part of the “wrong crowd” and fell completely head over heels for her. She was just as hooked on drugs as he was, but then something changed their lives. She was pregnant, so they got married and began to try to clean up their lives. They both started living a healthy, drug-free life. Once their daughter was born, he was completely in love with his little girl. He made sure she as always taken care of, and made sure she was in healthy home. Even though he loved his daughter more than anything, he still loved his wife more. After their daughter tuned one, the wife went back to the old habits of drugs. She began to never come home, be with other men, and brought drugs around her daughter. The only way to keep her in his life was to go back to his old habits, too. So, he started abandoning their daughter, brought drugs around her and followed behind his wife’s footsteps. Even though he had done everything he could to keep her…
