Crime in the United States has fluctuated considerably over the past thirty years and policy makers try to implement law in other to reduce its growth. But doing so, it seems to interfere with other existing issue such as drug use. Therefore, crime and drug appear to be two sides of the same coins and the dilemma here is how to be cautious in decision taking toward one issue and avoiding side effects on the other side. The relationship between drug use and criminal behavior has been of primary interest to researchers and practitioners for most of this century. According to the preexisting research’s, drugs are related to crime in multiple ways. The existing relationship between drugs and crime appeared on the effects that they have on the user’s behavior and by generating violence and other illegal activity in connection with drug trafficking. Also, an overview of the current literature about the topic suggests that there is strong evidence of a cause and effect relationship between drug using and criminal behavior. Therefore, the main goal of this research is to examine the existing information and the current perceptions about the research question and to draw logic conclusion about the drugs-crime relationship... In order to answer that question we will look at prior research about the existing relationship between drug and crime and draw a cause and effect relationship between these two variables.
