4 March 2016 Surprisingly, one of the worst and most terrifying places in the United States is Chicago, Illinois. The crime rate is at an all time high and this is why it is so dangerous. All the way from robbing little corner stores on the street to drug trafficking from Mexico. You could say Chicago has it all. Most gangs that are around nowadays are all pretty much new to Chicago. Most of the ones that had first appeared had either slowly disappeared, or just been wiped out by other gangs or the police. What most of the first more major gangs did were small things compared to what gangs today do now. For example back in the 1980’s gangs were small and mostly trafficking cocaine throughout the state. As the years passed by it got more advanced and more dangerous people that were more risky stated taking over these gangs and turning them into something worse than what they began. It is perhaps one of the most dangerous streets you could live or be on. It is this way because of all the violent crimes that have been committed throughout the years. Recent crimes in the past four years have been pretty bad. There has been about 19 murders alone on just that one street and other shootings. It is just overall completely dangerous for children to be on. Children can no longer walk by themselves to school anymore. Instead the city of Chicago has hired different people to take them to school so they do not have to have to worry about there children being harmed. Overtime O’ Block has been getting a little better. Chicago has been cracking down on the crimes by putting more cameras around the street and officers patrol the street now more often. O’ Block has gotten its name from a more popular gangster. His name was, “Oldee Perry.” He was shot down at the corner of the street and from then every one has recognized the street as, “O’
