This article is giving us reliable facts about how schools are conducting drug testing on their athletes. One of the things they do is random testing on their athletes. They collect urine samples to see if they are using of the following drugs such as marihuana, cocaine, amphetamines, PCP, and opioids including both heroin and prescription pain relievers. These over the counter drugs can be easily found as they are sold in the stores and do not need the signature of a doctor. The only problem is that we are not sure what is in those pills. The FDA does not regulate, monitor the dietary supplement the athletes take so the athlete on their own risk takes the supplements. If the REC finds something wrong they educate the NCAA on these banned substances and the ingredients found and how harmful it can be to the body.
