Drug testing shouldn’t be in schools because it distracts students from the entire learning, which is the purpose of them being in school in the first place. Drug testing in schools are not that popular, due to the cost as well as many other factors. Less than 5% of high schools in the U.S. perform random drug tests on their students (Students for Sensible Drug Policy, 2015). There are some schools that require students to submit to drug testing if they want to participate in any extra-curricular activity, which may be alright if the school is really successful in those areas.
