Should schools really be drug testing students? This topic is becoming well known in public schools. According to the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 20 percent of high schools in the U.S have started a drug testing program by 2006. And the American Academy of Pediatrics says drug testing might sound like a good way to keep kids off drugs but there is little evidence that it works. Although there are schools and teachers that think other schools should be drug testing, schools actually shouldn’t be drug testing because it is too expensive, students are getting suspended, and the students could cheat the test.
