However, the author, Magdy Martínez-Solimán, does not hold a dispassionate viewpoint throughout; though he includes several factual aspects in his article, he also shows that he is personally invested in the topic, using several first person pronouns while describing the measures that should be taken in order to fight the drug war more successfully, such as “we” and “our”, as if to include himself in the situation at hand.
