Drug and Alcohol Abuse Drugs are not something that plagues the local area, it is all around the world. Drugs have been around for a very long time. Drugs have been hurting people mentally, physically, and emotionally for centuries whether illegal or legal. Some say that drugs are okay, it causes no harm, but the person taking drug. Taking a certain amount or the wrong drugs can get people in trouble or even kill them. Drugs can ruin peoples life’s. The average age of people who first experiment with drugs is thirteen years old, and for alcohol it is even younger. Drugs are a major problem for kids as early as fourth grade(“Facts’’). Drug addiction is a dependence on a legal or illegal drugs or medication. Alcohol and nicotine are legal substances but are also considered drugs (‘’Diseases’’). Being addicted to drugs is very harmful to a person 's body and it can really affect a life in a negative way and it usually takes a while to even realize how much that certain drug can hurt the person using it. It gets the heart pumping and makes a person have more energy, but it is also very bad for bath salt to invade all the bodily functions. A person can get bath salts into the system many different ways like injecting it with a needle, snorting it, or swallowing it. Using bath salt can hurt the body and cause serious problems immediately. It makes the heart rate go up and blood pressure elevate, makes people see things that are not there and hear things that are not there, and also makes people become violent. Long term effects of bath salt include death, liver and kidney failure, and breaks down skeleton and bone tissue. Trying to stop using bath salts is difficult like any other drug, quitting can cause depression, anxiety, sleeping problems, and paranoia. It is very dangerous to take bath salts it hurts the body many different ways
