Drug Abuse and the Reasons Why Essay

What are some of the reasons why some people start using drugs you might ask? A common reason that people start using drugs is due to family issues. Sometimes there are issues that a person is going through that they don’t know how to deal with and are looking for some type of way to escape the reality of it. “The majority of individuals who abuse drugs during adulthood suffered some form of abuse or neglect during childhood. They believe that they by running away from it or masking it might ease the pain of everything.
Another reason why people start is just simple curiosity. No matter what a person’s age is, they are generally speaking, curious about things in life. There is not an exception for drugs. Most people by their teens would have tried some type of drug or alcohol at least once. Some try them while they are at a party or some type of activity around others that might have already tried them and are beginning to become addicted. This has always been a problem especially for young children who have older siblings and look up to them as a role model, always mimicking the things that they see them doing openly or behind the closed door.
