It was well after five thirty on Friday and I was just about to leave when the phone rang. Frowning, I reached over and lifted up the phone.

“Hello. Julie Garrett here, can I help you?”

“Security here, ma’am, there is a Miss Stone and Mister Ellis here to see you. From Loretto, says they need your signature on some inspection documents.”

I let out an exasperated sigh. I thought I had finished all the documents related to Loretto yesterday. They were turning out to be an irritating client but then again since I was getting a six-figure commission from them I couldn’t complain.

“Okay. Send them up.”

I left my desk and headed for the elevator, wondering how long it would take. The floor was empty with all the lights dimmed, my office being the only room with the lights still on. I waited by the elevator, watching the numbers go up and finally come to a stop at floor 40. The bell dinged, the doors slid open and out stepped a tall, beautiful redhead. She had shoulder length wavy hair, green eyes and was dressed in a white, button-down shirt under a dark red business coat. The shirt was untucked over a knee length skirt. He had a suit tucked under one arm and held a messenger bag.

“Hi, I am Julie Garrett,” I said, holding out a hand.

“Dana Stone,” the woman said, shaking my hand. “This is Richard Ellis.”

I shook hands with him and led them to my office. The moment we entered I walked around my desk and sat down, watching as Richard closed the door behind him. I raised a questioning eyebrow at him but he did not seem to notice.

“So what are these documents?” I asked as they sat down.

“Oh, nothing too serious,” Dana said pleasantly as Richard opened the briefcase. “It’s a nice office you got here, Miss Garrett.”

“Thank you,” I said with a smile and watched as Richard took out a manila
