Drought aggravates degradation of the environment through the effects of ecosystem and climate such as deforestation, soil erosion, water pollution, and loss of bio-diversity. Social effects of drought include reduced water supplies which cause health and sanitation diseases, especially for vulnerable groups of the society which are women and children.
