While other think that all 12 years of school aren’t important, or the things you learn now in life aren’t going to even be used in the real world. Kentucky raised its dropout age from sixteen to eighteen, Maryland raised its dropout age from sixteen to seventeen. Would also like to raise it higher in 2017. I’ve read article and also been told by a few family members that some of their kids drop out of school and will be working in fast food for the rest of their lives. Cashiers make at least $15,500 a year without a high school diploma. That’s not enough to take care of yourself and a family. What would these teens/young adults be living like? Many articles talk about how these would be the ones who live with their parents. Buying a house is expensive especially up in the city, without a solid career how could you accomplish buying a house? Statistics show that students who don’t have high school diplomas are my likely to live in poverty, the poverty rate for a high school dropout id 30.8
