“Current Science Event: Drone-Stunning Device Industrialized” An innovative AUDS (Anti-UAV Defense System) has the ability to detect, track, and disable drones. Opposed to Boeing’s Compact Laser Weapons System, which fires concentrated lasers to melt drones out of the sky, the AUDS identifies the radio signal that the drone uses, and then fires the same frequency at the drone to command it to cease operating. AUDS essentially jams the drone’s communication with its original signal from a remote transmitter. From there, the drone hovers, crippled to move in any direction, until its battery dies, then descends down to earth where it can be retrieved without receiving any damage. This experimental technology may catch the attention of airports, governmental facilities, and private land-owners who desire to keep drones away from their property. AUDS was originally developed by three leading technological companies in the UK, as it requires multiple complex radar, directional inhibitors, and thermal camera systems …show more content…
Once an AUDS system detects a drone, it uses Hawkeye DS and EO thermal imaging software to track the movement of the drone. This tracking software also allows the operator to determine whether to fire RF Inhibitor disruption at a passing drone or to let it pass. The Directional RF Inhibitor itself formulates GNSS frequencies as designated by the operator to neutralize the drone. Because AUDS systems are currently in the patenting process, there is, consequently, little commercial availability in terms of obtaining these systems. While it is nearly impossible to obtain one of these astounding systems, they may prove to be revolutionary in prohibiting terrorist drone attacks and keeping unwanted commercial drones from government and private
