If the current regulations were fixed and basically flipped from how they are now it would do better for the United States economy, personal privacy, veteran treatment, and military success. If there were more regulations placed in terms of surveillance it would greatly help stress the importance of the fourth amendment and the privacy of citizens. People currently have problems with the National Security Agency spying on calls of the American citizens. Even though it is in a clear violation of the basic fundamentals the United States were founded on. However, drone surveillance takes this to an entire new level. The amount of restrictions on drones in the United States is ridiculous. Drones have shown its many uses in the work place, “Benefits include the reduction of wear and tear on farm equipment, savings on labor and fuel costs, gathering data, mapping fields, crop breeding, counting cattle, and checking water and algae levels in ponds.” (Jones, 29). So they can be affective in industries usually viewed as blue collar as well as high tech companies. The most known use of drones is Amazon has the technology to have drones deliver their goods. However, with current United States law it is impossible for them to implement it in the United States. This is unacceptable, if regulation like this continues all that will happen is the United States will fall behind in innovation. Regulating technological advancement is idiotic, because technological advancement is how the United States stays at the forefront of innovation which means more businesses and jobs meaning a better United States economy. To relate this to another event is people wanted to regulate the industrial revolution in the 1800s because they were afraid that it would take too many jobs away. It did take many jobs away but the invisible hand and capitalism guarantees that humans will move on to do bigger and better things. If hobbyists had more freedom with drones, there would be a higher chance of innovation because more people would be able to work and be familiar with drones. The more people able to have access to safe yet high tech drones the higher chance that people will be inspired to go into that field of work and ultimately helping the industry as a whole.
