Drones In Brave New World

Cracking the Technology Code Watching television with family on a black and white screen is where it all began. FaceTiming friends, texting, and flying drones is where the world will see technology die off. Or is it only the beginning? Take a closer look at where technology has brought the world up to this point today. Advanced Technology has come such a long ways from where it started. Drones have been around since 2000, but for military use only. Drones in the U.S. military are used for spying on enemies, UAV’s, and Remote Pilot aircrafts. That being said, the U.S. Air Force does in fact use drones to fire missiles. Drones we’re not available to be used by civilians until about 2012, when Congress passed the FAA Reauthorization Act. Congress passed the law “to make it easier for the government to fly unmanned spy planes in the U.S.” (Waterman). Drones are able to be used by civilians. Drones are also used to record videos from the air. One of the main reasons drones are used for are commercials. Amazon came out with a commercial discussing their next biggest invention for the future. Amazon Prime Air. “The summer afternoon was drowsy with the hum of passing helicopters…” (Huxley). Helicopters are already a form of transportation today, but what about self-driving cars? Google came out with their very own self-driving car. The way it works is by GPS, for the most part. There is a spinning sensor on top of the car called a “laser” (Google). The sensor picks up specific details around the car that helps the environment stay safe. A computer is built into the car that helps detect: Humans, Cars, Cycles, Signs, etc. The google car can also detect the speed limit, the speed of cars around them, and having to stop when someone pulls out in front of
