Driving while using handheld cell phone devices should be illegal. This should be illegal because it causes many unnecessary risks while driving. Some of these risks include accidentally breaking road laws, someone taking their eyes off the road, and endangering oneself and others. One risk someone takes while using a cell phone while driving is that they might accidentally break road laws while distracted. While using a cell phone and driving the driver is not fully focused on the road. This can cause someone to accidentally miss things such as road signs or stoplights. By missing these you could potentially be stopped by a police officer and ticketed. If ticketed you could face a fine and have to court depending on what your ticket

    When the eyes are focused down on the phone, they have to be taken off the road. This leaves plenty of time for the driver to swerve off course just enough to hit a pedestrian, or fail to take notice to a red light or approaching car.
