Driving While Driving Should Be Illegal

Wouldn't you agree that driving requires no distractions at all times? Therefore, not only should it be illegal in some states but in all 50 states it should be illegal to drive while using a handheld cell phone. Here are some reasons and examples to consider why driving while using a handheld cell phone should be illegal: Driving while using a handheld cell phone can be just as dangerous as texting and driving. It's dangerous because sometimes you can get carried away without even realizing it. God forbid, if something were to happen you could easily take control and or prevent it from happening if you aren't so distracted in a conversation or on the phone. I can't tell you how many times I've been in the car with someone while they're using a handheld cell phone and they are either fighting with someone and get carried away or even laughing and joking around and they get carried away. …show more content…
My parents are always on their phones while driving whether it's texting or talking and it scares me a lot to be honest because anything can happen in a blink of an eye. They're also role models to me and my four other sisters and I would expect them to want us to be distraction free at all times while driving. So I would hope the next time you pick up the phone while driving, you realize that you are setting a bad example to your kids.
