Parental Licensing is a very big deal in everyone’s lives because it allows people to go on by themselves and allows them to go on their own pace in their lives. People need to be very responsible for their actions and for what they do in life. A Drivers License is a very big deal because it shows that people can be responsible, people are becoming an adult or parent, and people are able to drive by themselves and not having parents freak out every time they make a stop or taking off. Parental Licensing is a very big deal and no one wants to mess it up. Sometimes when people want to just be free from everything like they can’t wait to drive and can’t wait to do stuff themselves, but their parents aren’t ready for that yet. Responsibility comes a long way when it cones to things like school, driving, bills, and taxes. Rose Mary had responsibility when it came to getting her license for being a parent or for well driving of course. In the book, Rose Mary is a terrible driver and this quote summaries it “But instead of easing forward, Mom, who had never quite gotten the hang of driving, hit the gas pedal hard, and the truck shot ahead. The piano jerked out of our hands, sending us lurching forward, and bounced into the house, splintering the door frame” (Walls 52). This quote shows that Rose Mary has never gotten the hang of driving and it shows that she has never had the responsibility of driving or getting her license. Having a driver’s license is a very big thing and people need to show responsibility to their car and to themselves when it comes to driving and Rose Mary probably didn’t have that responsibility when it came to driving in the past and in the present.
