Driverless Cars Technology

Technology has become a worldwide phenomenon in the modern world as technological breakthroughs aimed to facilitate everyday lives are introduced. These advancements greatly influence consumers while concurrently affecting the market and the company responsible for the development. For example, driverless cars, one of the newest disruptive technological innovations of today, have spurred quite a debate among society. While some think it would be a prodigious addition to the world as there would be less traffic accidents and greater safety, others believe automated cars are a major threat to humans and the environment. However, despite these concerns, automobile companies have to take into consideration that driverless cars will thrive in this high-tech world. From an automobile company’s perspective, self-driving cars will satisfy the demands of consumers while simultaneously keep the company successful and affluent.
As mentioned before, automated cars would clearly be a disruptive innovation as they would require the creation of a completely new, unpredictable market. The company would face demanding challenges and be forced to abandon their traditional approaches. Manufacturers will have to purchase the appropriate parts needed to construct the car. Current employees in the manufacturing business may have to be replaced with those who have more knowledge about the kind of new technology used for driverless cars. Dealerships will have to decide between focusing on selling the standard or new vehicles. This in turn, would determine how many of the new vehicles are sold thus determining how successful the company is in investing in the new product
