Drip Affogato Bar

Coffee Falls for Ice Cream
Have you heard about the class-sleek new ice cream-coffee shop at downtown New Orleans? With this, it will definitely break your allowance to smithereens. Don’t fear, the bill is all worth it! Drip Affogato Bar focuses the deluxe artisanal affogato dessert. Originally an Italian dessert that is a coffee-based and usually form a scoop of gelato or ice cream, top with gourmet toppings and freshly brewed expresso which has been poured. Sounds pretty cool-icious isn’t? The first and only affogato bar that brings together the best of their coffees and ice creams. Going to a place like Drip Affogato Bar would makes us realize the pinnacle moment when how much time we had spent together over ice-cream with our families, best-friends, or better halves. With its easily found location, modern to simple interior, and food and service, Drip Affogato brings “bitter plus sweet craving” to the city – a bit scoop of heaven to be cliché. The shop’s location is absolutely easy to find and it is basically at the corner of Carondelet and Girod Street.

With the car window down, I could feel the touch of sweltering sun. Few tourists walked around and countless cars passed by on the street. I could smell the smoke coming from the vintage cars and brand new released cars crossing side to side. I could descry the astonishingly beautifully aged houses and buildings around my sight. It was then I realized that we need to get a parking spot, as with all the downtown haunts, we took about almost half an hour to get parked. Certainly, it was a hot and exhausting day for me, Pauline (my younger sister) and Jem (one of my friend) who just got out from school and were looking for a cold and sweet dessert with sole purpose of razing the stress plus the sizzling weather on this summer afternoon. Then, we walked for about five minutes from the parking lot (where actually beside the streets) and to our main destination. Lastly, we have found the ice cream-coffee shop on the seven-hundredth blocked of Carondelet Street. Thus, Drip Affogato Bar is pretty easy to locate within all the traffic and business of the street. The shop’s interior design has definitely caught my attention. There is a classy-black signage (almost reached the window of the second-floor building) we had seen before we enter inside, and it is read as “Drip.” As I walked through the door, I got amazed with the minimalist interior design, yet lack of space of the shop. The cozy atmosphere made us feel at home. I also appreciated the attention to details. Minimalist, yet mesmerizing details (pretty small but clearly can see). They also have a gender-neutral restroom next to the storage, Wi-Fi access, great seating (for doing your works), and pretty cool trash can. The table isn’t a real marble but a printed marble pasted on the table includes the small artificial flower inside the white-simple vase on top of the table. Therefore, everything about the interior works well as a whole which makes the shop so simple and classy. The shop’s food and service is the entire package and that is why we come. I am a huge fan of ice cream (Matcha flavor to be exact), but when I heard about the ice cream plus the coffee I know it sounds the bomb! Their classic flavors are consistent, well-made but pricey. Then, I went to the counter and like a little kid who’s learning how to speak never had any word to say. I’ve never been there and it was my first time. Two ladies, wearing all black, in contrast to the whole color of the shop that is all white, except the long wooden rectilinear table bar that was connected to the wall. One of them help me and told me their specials. So, we tried their one scoop of four varieties ice cream (The Classique, Matcha-Matcha, Vietnamese Coffee, and Cookie Monster) plus with coffees on the side. Each served on the puny white bowls plus the gourmets on top, and placed them together on a small wooden chopping board. I started on the

Ted uses a lot of imagery in his free verse poem “Depression Glass” by using our five senses: see, touch, taste, feel, and hear. In line one, “It seemed those rose-pink dishes”, seems to be the main focus in this poem while they are used for special occasions, they still have an issue keeping something hot, “the plates like the panes of ice”. He used metaphors twice to compare the rose-pink dishes always being cold as ice and the cups’ inability to keep coffee or other beverages hot, “everyday mug would have kept/a splash hot for the better”. I take this as perhaps a regular mug would have been a better choice, but the hostess realized that it would have just clashed with the rest of the set like an eyesore.…

The Meatpacking District is one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC because of how hip it is and how it is packed with steel and glass lofts, with sun pouring though the oversized windows. It always gives me an electric feeling walking around the cobble streets, looking at the Chelsea Market and walking the High Line. All of that sprightliness is encapsulated perfectly into the Fig and Olive. It has those floor to ceiling windows, that let rays seep in, reinforced by industrial steal framing the beautiful warehouses. The loft-like space of the restaurant has many rugged aspects like the hanging warehouse pendant lights and the metallic components throughout, however Fig and Olive also has a calm Mediterranean feel to its decor.…

We had just come from my granddaughter’s basketball game and we had decided to go to the Bob Evans in Marysville. That particular Bob Evans does not have a good reputation with me but since my dear grandchildren wanted to eat there I simply replied, “Why not.”. When we got inside a very cheery room greeted us. There was a beautiful chandelier covering twenty or so tables with green tablecloths and the usual condiments. “It looks good enough.”…

Have you ever got to enjoy hot and ready breakfast in bed? Well, I have, on the day I got to go to Six Flags which to be exact was February the second, twenty-thirteen. Oh, the smell of apple wood honey bacon with two over-medium eggs with a hash brown intrigued with cheese and onions in the middle is the smell of breakfast at its finest. The morning was also a treat in itself with the view of the marvelous, enchanting sunrise and the bluebonnets that my family and I have planted in our backyard gave the right appearance for the new day. Now, this was a Saturday so there’s no school…

The next morning, Mercy surprised Surina by joining her for breakfast on the sunny terrace in the backyard of her cottage. They enjoyed the leisurely meal to the sound of honey bees buzzing around an assortment of flowers in full bloom lining the edges of the garden. Indeed, the fragrance of the rhododendrons, chrysanthemums, foxgloves, roses, and lilies of the valley intermingled to create a unique heavenly perfume. In the past, Surina’s kinetic pace never allowed her enough time for breakfast other than a hasty granola bar before frantically rushing off to the hospital. In contrast, today she luxuriated in a proper full English breakfast.…

The sky above was pitch black-a growing crescent illuminated in the night. Sparkling, shiny spots illuminated in the sky. Maneuvering around the cones that the police set up, yellow vehicles honked, casting blinding streams of light that shone around the street. The numerous screens, signs, and stores lit up the area, holding hands with the city, forming a shield of comfort, warmth, and safety. Pedestrians clung together in big groups, hyped and excited for the fun just ahead, like delighted children on Christmas day receiving their presents.…

After that my brother, sister, and I were guided to the couches that were located in the lobby, while my parents spent about twenty agonising minutes checking us in. After the long flight I just wanted to lay down and rest, but my dad thought it would be a wonderful idea to go out into the city and explore some of the many different places. Groaning and dragging my feet along with shoulders hunched forward I followed my eager parents into a place that I had never been before. The hustle and bustle of the day was all around me, and the amount of people who were walking throughout the streets and the sidewalk was astounding. About five minutes into the walk a loud noise boomed throughout the entire city chanting words in a language I had never heard before.…

I finally saw the the beautiful sun for the first time without having to bend my head back as far as I could since I had been in New York. It shone down brightly, warming my skin and glimmering off the glass of the skyscrapers in the near distance. I could finally feel the soft breeze wrap around me and not get deflected from the buildings. I watched the people from the city enter the park and watched as their city attitudes give way to the magical ambiance of the park. I closed my eyes and took it all in, and I could’ve stayed on top of that rock for…
