According to Research it is said that on smaller campuses, where everyone knows everyone, students may feel more confident in their judgement of others’ drinking, because they are more familiar with a larger whole of the total student population. Within the media college is portrayed to be one big party. College students drinking habitats are over exaggerated within media outlets, and College drinking is often praised in movies and encouraged through the party lifestyle. In this kind of environment, students are more likely to participate in careless drinking activities, thinking it is a normal aspect of college. This is not a normal part of the college experience, most students spend the majority of their time studying or doing other things. Parties are normal, and most students do engage in these activities on occasion, but it is not a daily occurrence. Though, it does influence new student’s expectations about college.
