Soda started a few thousand years ago. When Greeks and Romans discovered the medical benefits of mineral water, so they began to bathe in it. Then, in the late 1700’s, the Americans and Europeans started drinking this sparkling mineral water. Mineral water was first produced in 1809. This imitated mineral water was called “soda water.” The first bottled soda water was sold in 1835 (“Soft Drink”).

Soda is a very acidic beverage, so it can cause a damaged digestive system. Soft drinks can even cause harm to cells. Studies show that soft drinks can even increase the risk of Alzheimer's. Now, you may think one soda every two or three days is not that bad, but drinking even two soft drinks a week can double the risk of pancreatic cancer.
