Individuals younger than this are not responsible in their actions and their indulgence in alcohol consumption will only lead to more fatality rates amongst the population. This law is effective because it helps curb the amount of drinking by adolescents as well as those driving vehicles. Although, if more teens are educated about alcohol and parents teach their kids about alcohol the underage drinking will decrease in percentage, it has already gotten far too out of hand. Lowering the age will only further complicate the ongoing issue. Teenagers who are 18 years old aren’t mature enough to handle drinking responsibly and although they aren’t old enough they’re still going to drink. However, with the law over the head maybe they’ll make the appropriate decisions while drinking to ensure public safety. It has been proven on many occasions that the drinking age of 21 complements the prevention of adolescent drinking and as a population we should embrace this law further adding even more preventive measures. Unless there is a drastic change in social studies in regards to drinking, it’s safe to say that the legal age of 21 is working just fine for our
