For example, I tried out for the team going into my Sophomore year of high school. Everyone said it was really hard to make the team and it was going to be harder for me because I never danced before. I was so nervous, but I was determined to make the team. Every day after we learned the dance I would go home and practice some more for hours. Doing this showed myself and others (such as my family) that I was dedicated and hard-working. I learned so much from my teammates not only in dance but in life as well. Such as not to get yourself into drama because that will only bring bad things into your life. If you are focused and not distracted by others, then you will meet everything you want or need. The most important thing I learned was the year to my Junior year. This year was the year when all our officers were graduating so all of my friends was trying out for dance officer. I did not want to tryout because I did not believe I was ready for all the pressure of drill team and school. Then my director talked to me and finally convinced me to try out, the day before the tryout, to see what will happen. That night I had to make up a solo and we had to do a book will football fields, questionnaire, an essay, and some more. This once again showed myself and others that I could do anything if I put my mind to it. This also showed me that if you do what you are supposed to do you will be awarded for it, which for me was becoming an officer and never regretting trying out.
In conclusion, drill team has become the most important activity in my life because of all the lessons I have faced to learn. Without drill team, I would not be the person I am today and I wouldn’t have the confidence I have in
