Belleville west has had a dress code since 2002 and students and parents have hated it . The students from west think it is a waste of time and the non sense it has to them. Most student think it is a appearance or even to try to reduce violence.
From a interview of a student from west “There is a dress code so people won't wear stupid and inappropriate things to school.” said Keyairre Gaston.
This is one student that feels that dress code is needed but also thinks it is a waste of time.
In the interview with Doctor Bass he was asked if he thought dress code helped with the poor students. He said “ I believe it does because it does not show who has wealth or who does not it makes them all look the same it Doesn't make one person …show more content…

When Doctor Bass was asked if without dress was better or worse. He responded with “ I have worked at two schools one with and one without, and at the school without it was no problem there . At the one with there was no difference it seems the same to me.”
