For instance, if humans were controlled by the matrix, there would be a moment in their lives where they would doubt their truth existence. When they question their reality versus their dreams, they might encounter the question, “what if my reality is indeed the reality of somebody else, like a higher power or computer?” In this thought, they are challenging the matrix. The moment of awakening by humans is similar to Plato’s Allegory of the Cave. The prisoners in the cave are only knowledgeable of their own shadows reflected by the fire that lies overhead the balcony that portrays the puppet shadows and echoes by their captivators. Furthermore, underneath the balcony, there are stairs that tat lead into reality. Moreover, as they, the prisoners, are slaves to their captivators, humans are the slaves of the matrix. When the humans subject their life to doubt, they are abandoning ignorance and examining their life. When the prisoner is freed, he leaves his shadow and turns around to the light that is the fire and he experiences agony as the fire burns his eyes. In that moment he is forced to examine is life. He walks up the stairs and finds himself into reality which is a moment of enlightenment. The prisoner depicts acceptance which is perceived with the humans. The humans transition from a period of ignorance to enlightenment and are able to distinguish between their dreams and reality which is the matrix.
