The answer to that is a definite no. We, as Americans, get so caught up in our own ideals that we don’t stop to recognize the fact that many ancient and native cultures have been exploring the meanings of dreams for quite some time. As much as we may not want to admit it, these cultures influenced our ways of thinking and inspired us to think about dreams the way we do.

According to their beliefs, if someone had a dream with no negative feelings afterward, then he/she was favored by the gods. On the other hand, if someone did have a negative dream, they believed it was because they displeased the gods in some way.
