Women are not often shown as business owners in the film industry, but Dream Girl made it possible. The documentary started with a background story of its director and how she left her job as a graphic designer to make a movie. She explained how she managed the job with the support of many as well as the contributions of the amazing women brought together by this project. Each woman represented in the movie had her own powerful story to convey to those that would be watching the final product. Women like Komal Minhas, founder of Komedia, and Annie Wang, cofounder of Senvol, talked about their experiences while building a business of their own as well as having to recognize that women in the business
