“I see you’re a quick learner kid. The name’s Levi,” he said, reaching his hand out as I flew to his height.
Using Levi’s way of hovering, taking his hand into my grip, I replied, “The name’s Shay.” Our gazes locked one anothers, I could see the excitement in the green dragon’s piercing red eyes. “Thanks for saving my by the way, I appreciate it.”
“Us dragons have to stick together right? All for one and one for all and that shit.” This isn’t the first time I’ve heard something like this. At school I had a friend that said these kinds of things, and he ended up using me to join the masks.
“Yeah, something like that.” I wasn’t sure about this guy, but I’ll go with it for now. “So, what can we dragons do?”
“We can, obviously, shoot fire, which is pretty much the only thing the humans got right about us,” he said, “we can shape shift, if you want you can delve into magic. Both of those are skills you need to work on, the shape shifting more that the magic. Unles you are born with a talent for it, you know, the hole everyone learns at different paces thing. I shut my eyes as I delved into the familiar feeling of the wind in my face. When I heard Levi yelling at me, “Pay attention kid!” I opened my eyes only to fly right into a bunch of trees. bust rose up when I made a small crater in the ground. This is when I realized that I probably should close my eyes when I’m flying. It’s a lot more complex than what the birds make it look like. Making it look so easy with their feathers, and sitting on phone wires. They should make a manual. “Hey Shay, you alright!” Levi said.
“Yeah I’ll be right up!” I replied. I tensed up my leg muscles, only to release it. launching my body up far enough that I could fly back up to where Levi was. When I got up to the same height as him I see the look on his face so I start to, or try to, explain the mistake I had made.
But he wouldn’t let me. Levi just started to laugh, and I was staring at him, because all he said after was, ¨Follow me kid, and pay attention this time.” I could feel my cheeks heat up at the mention of my mistake.
Embarrassed, all I responded back with was a short ¨yeah,¨ and I kept following him towards where ever we are going to practice using
