She would eventually go on to graduate from the NYU Film school, where she won a Mobil Prize for her student film Sleeping Beauties (1991).…

In spite of the fact that I am obviously of white European descent and sometimes people have wrongly assumed that I care nothing for the other cultures of the world (based on my skin tone alone), I have always had a passion for learning about other cultures, ethnicities, religions, and people in general. I often say that if we are all the same, this world would be boring. So having the opportunity to recently interview Gerald Auger was a veritable treat. I do not often come into contact with Indigenous peoples, and the fact that he is such a well-spoken activist for his people with an heart for indie film that tells the accurate history of this misunderstood people group made this an enlightening question/answer session indeed. random-photo-ben-clayton-photography-1.jpg.jpg…

I've spent the past two and a half years making a film - probably a good 95% of my non-sleeping life during that time - and sometimes it seems it all comes down to these few weeks of release in theaters. Let me tell you, it's harrowing. The movie is doing incredibly all over the world - up nearly fifty percent over the first film in most territories, and a breakout hit in countries where it didn't do as well the first time around (hi, Korea!) I'm exceptionally proud of how well it's doing in the countries I've visited and where I've made many friends the past few years - Thailand, Brazil, Colombia, Russia, the UK.…
