Theodor Seuss Geisel, otherwise known as Dr. Seuss, was born on March 2, 1904. He grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts. Despite all the teasing, he still drew his funny creatures. He has written many famous children’s books. Dr. Seuss was one of the most creative and unique authors in history. Theodor Geisel was a very creative man. Ted started drawing the creatures at a young age as weird versions of the animals in Springfield Zoo where his father worked. He would go to the zoo after school with some paper (Krull 18). Some of his most famous characters are the Cat in the Hat, Mad Mary, Sam-I-Am, Horton, the Grinch, and the Lorax. He was able to write and illustrate 43 childrens books. Unlike most colored children’s books, there are no deep purples, and hardly any browns and greys. He taught many different valuable lessons in a more fun and entertaining way. What’s even better is that all of his books rhyme (“What Made Dr. Seuss a Legend”). Another reason he is unique is because of his drawings. He would draw animals that no others had drawn.
