I do agree with Dr. Pickheardt’s view on crushes. From personal experience to the article, Adolescence and the teenage crush, crushes are a early form of love, to help the person experience difficulties before going through real love to be more prepared. A crush should not be criticized, for it will help young teenagers develop maturity and encourage them to become who they want to be as a person. This will help broaden their sense of reality. The author speaks about what would happen if the person could get criticized for their feelings. Teenagers are already stressed enough, informing them of what they don’t realize will make them worry more, as well as prevent them from learning their own lesson.

It all depends on what type of person they are and how they are raised. Some teenagers rebel to get their parents attention, but if the parents are wise about their advice, it will influence them significantly whether they listen or not. Rebellion is a contribution from right from wrong. I agree that rebellion can be a concern. As teenagers are growing up and learning, it’s best to support them instead of telling them right from wrong. It will give them a chance to let them make their own mistakes and let them earn their own lessons. It will give them the independence in their life to make their own decisions. Rebellion is very serious and can affect or change a person completely so it should be handled with wisely. Let teenagers figure it out themselves using the guidance you’ve provided.

This is just my opinion and my thoughts on teenage crushes and rebellion. overall, these two things should be taken very seriously and handled with wisely. Sometimes the wrong advice could lead to wrong consequences so instead of saying right from wrong, let teenagers have their own say in things and let them make their own
