Dr. Phil Mcgraw's Talk Show Report

Decent Essays
Second, Dr. Phil.com is one of the most successful talk show that hosted by Phil. McGraw. It is important to the brand because it advertise the show. If people missed the show, they can review the show on the website. It is easy to find the show and it labels things very organized. Each show has an image that represents what the show is about. Dr. Phil uses photos, images, and the title of the article to attach people’s attention. However, the background of the page is black, which is a boring color. The website should change the background color. In the middle of the page, there is a trail of the up-coming talk show, but there is also an ad run along as well. These may detract the attention of the viewers. Overall, I gave Dr. Phil an A because

This week’s journal entry serves the purpose of analyzing the Mylan healthcare’s website on anaphylaxis, and compare it with best practices for usability, accessibility, credibility, and consistency, as I would if I were a member of a communications department at Mylan healthcare. The web is an important medium of communication as it combines all types of other communication which came before it (Lester, 2012). As other forms of media, the web can also be a valuable resource for information and change, but the effectiveness and success of a website may hinder upon the audience’s perspective of the website. First and foremost a website has to grasp the audience’s attention, and provide content which is interesting, applicable, and befitting for the targeted audience. The Mylan Healthcare Anaphylaxis website’s intent is to bring about awareness of anaphylaxis, and…

When I first heard this year’s theme, “Standing Up in History,” the first thing that came to mind was the Holocaust and WWll. Remembering a book I had read a few years back titled “The Boy Who Dared” by Susan Bartoletti about Helmuth Hübene, the youngest person to be sentenced to death by the Nazi Regime, I immediately began to research other people and groups who stood up against Hitler. Soon after that, I stumbled across Sophie Scholl, a young woman in a non-violent resistance group, and began to investigate her and the group called “The White Rose” (german translation: die Weiße Rose) who between the points of summer 1942 to February 1943 wrote and published 6 leaflets about the wrongness of the Nazis. By this point, inspired and immediately…

The party that I chose to evaluate was the Illinois Green Party. I chose to evaluate this website because I wanted to see how a 3rd party would match up to the Democratic and Republican pages. At first glance, the page does seem to be a little outdated, however it was much better than I anticipated. Because the Green Party is a lesser known party, I expected a late 90s themed website that was hard to navigate. On the homepage there were links for people to get involved with the party, as well as places to donate.…
