'Where you have been, Haig? I never heard a car last night.'
'I’ve just finished my Masters at university.'
'Aren’t you too young?' 'I still don’t know where he got it from,' confessed Doctor Pax. 'I taught him until he was fifteen, but he wanted to learn more.’
'What did you study?'
'Nothing exciting. Space-time, relativity, paradoxes, that sort of thing.'
'All at seventeen years old?' Mosaic almost choked but recovered in time.
'I submitted my final papers yesterday.'
'And just in time,’ said Doctor Pax. ‘I asked Haig to come home and help us out with the time-rift.’ He stretched over and reached inside a drawer. He picked out a long oblong box and passed it across to Mosaic. ‘This is for you.’

This Saturday, however, didn’t include any of my usual weekend routines. Instead, I was watching the funeral procession of my beloved prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley.…

But I just can’t. It was 1940 when Jim left to go to Europe to fight on the front, I remember the day before he left like it was yesterday. The docks were the last place I was able to see him before he got onto that boat to leave to Europe.
