Revenge is something everyone has fancied at one point or another. From keying a car to something more sinister, there’s always some form of revenge we deem ‘justifiable.’ But someone must ask, is revenge appropriate?
According to Source D, in the years between, and including, 1992-2003, more than half of all murders were provoked by “quarrel, revenge, or loss of temper.” This goes hand-in-hand with Leviticus 24:20 “Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.”
However, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stated a much more humane response: “the old law of an eye for an eye leaves everybody blind.” Dr. King was correct in his statement, a world in which everyone seeks revenge
