Dr. Krep Essay

Improved Essays
Like many as a child, I did not do a great deal reflective learning. Everyone, of course, learns from their mistakes. But does everyone learn from the things they did right? When Dr. Kreps came into the classroom last week, I started looking up questions to ask him. I started to think of some questions that made me question about the experience that I was about to have. Those questions are things like “What did I notice?”, “How did I feel about this?”, and then to further my thinking of what happened; “Why did this make me feel this way?” As Dr. Kreps entered the room, I began to feel nervous about which questions I was going to ask, and what other people were going to ask. I soon realized that everyone felt this way, and some people did not even have questions to ask. But nonetheless; I noticed that Dr. Kreps was still enthusiastic, and proud of his chicken farming answers. And as Dr. Kreps was answering every question we had to his fullest extent, I couldn’t help but to be heartened by Dr. …show more content…
Maybe it was the position in the classroom that I was sitting in. I could certainly write a three page essay on that. The real reason this experience is unique to me is because of my father. My father has been an infrequent figure in my life, and our relationship is not the greatest. It is very hard to hold conversations with him because I do not have any idea what is going on in his life. But thanks to this experience, I have a little insight into what my father does, since he also raises chickens. Since this experience was unique to me, I think it was probably a little different for everyone else in the room. I don’t imagine everyone there being in the same position as I am, some may raise chickens themselves. I also do not think this experience may have meant as much to everyone one else. Since they are not having the same experience as me, many may have not taken the same things away from the experience as I

The campus seemed very big to me at that time. Another thing that was new to me that day while I was waiting to take my test, was the fact that there were students of all ages. After all that experience I had that day just made me have a bad view of college before even attending any classes since I was not used to that environment. By reading the article "I Am Not a Writer, I Am a Good Writer" by Joe Quartone, I learned that he also had similar feelings when going to collegein his writing class. He states that," I always had this kind of defensive attitude about college writing"(Quartone 237).…

From kindergarten to the present, I have always wondered about the world around me and always tried to put others needs before myself. My father also thought of me as a caring philosopher because I asked questions like “What is death?”at a young age. My elementary school, Foothill Oak, has shaped some prejudices and arrogance that I did my best to hide and fix through my middle school through high school. In Foothill Oak, I wasn’t challenged much.…

The part of this course Language and Mass Communication will be included in this written task through the form of an editorial. The book that has been studied in class, Omnivore’s Dilemma presents multiple issues that clearly affect and concern many societies, in which by using one of the many ideas it contains, it can be embodied into an editorial. Reinhardt Academy was established in 1883 in Waleksa, Georgia, but didn’t officially have its first classes until 1884 when it was opened as a grammar school. Captain Augustus M. Reinhardt and his brother-in-law Lieutenant-Colonel John J. A. Sharp shared a law practice together, and wanted to open the college as a memorial to Reinhardt’s father. There were no college aged kids in the area at the time so the school commenced at a wood shop and served as a high school. The school became Reinhardt Normal College in 1890, and then officially became Reinhardt College in 1911. It wasn’t until 2010 that the school became Reinhardt University, the name it currently holds.…

The Sanctuary of School The essay I chose to write was over the short article of “The Sanctuary of School” by Lynda Barry. In this story it talks about the author Lynda Barry’s experience with the school from a young age. She talks about growing up in a home with her mom and her dad having money issues, relatives that kept moving in, her brother and her sleeping on the couch, and the constant fighting going on. She explains how she didn’t feel safe at home so she talks about school being a safe haven for her, and how lucky she was that she had Mrs. LeSane and Mr. Gunderson.…

At nineteen years old I have written more papers, letters, texts, e-mails and notes then ten people can even remember, and in all honesty only three really stick out in my memory: a four page paper on my dream vacation from ninth grade, my five page research essay from last semester, and my very first college essay also from last semester. With these three in mind I decided one was not like the others, thus my most memorable writing experience would have to be my very first college essay, a short three page paper assigned on a pivotal point in my life, entitled “No, Because I Said So.” This is my most memorable writing experience for three reasons, the first being because it was so difficult for me to write, the second, it took me writing the paper to fully understand the life lesson my pivotal point had taught me, and the third, most important of all is because I was able to share my essay with Mrs. Barrett, thanking her for creating the pivotal point in my life.…
