Most doctors do not intentionally bring harm to their patients; in fact, the Hippocratic oath they each take directly prohibits it. Instead, anyone who’s been to their family doctor knows they try to cure what is wrong with them but in this case - everything was all twisted up. In 1937 Dr. Mengele had received his medical degree from Munich University and then later that year joined the Nazi party. In June 1940 Mengele was drafted into the army and then volunteered to join the medical services at the Waffen-SS Inspectorate. He oversaw and even chose the Jews that would enter the gas chambers that would walk become victims to the gas chambers. Josef Mengele was a Nazi doctor at the Auschwitz extermination camp in Poland and was born in Gunzburg Germany on March 16, 1911. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Anthropology, he studied medicine at the University of Frankfurt am Main. Once he got his medical degree, he joined the German Army’s in the Medical Corps where Heinrich Himmler appointed him. Later on Himmler made Dr. Mengele the Chief Doctor at Birkenau, which was a supplementary extermination camp at Auschwitz. At the supplementary extermination camp, him and his staff would then select incoming Jews off the “ramp” that they wanted.
