Dr Ivan Joseph's Speech

I completely agree with Dr. Ivan Josephs speech. Self confidence is a very important skill to have but, is also a hard skill to master. If you don't have confidence in yourself, then who will? Dr. Joseph explains it so well how you can build up your confidence " Get away from the people who will tear you down." he said. He also said to write a letter to your self, or repeat it until it comes natural to you.

In todays society not a lot of younger kids or even teenagers have confidence in them self anymore. I believe that that has to do with the amount of bullying that is going on. To over come those obstacles they simply need to remove them selves of the situation. I thought the video was very informative and helpful on building

When starting something new or changing an aspect of your life, you may have a little voice in your head that is doubtful of your abilities to succeed. The little voice that says things like “I am such a disappointment” or in my case, “Why did I even think about taking Psychology 150? I can not pass that class.” This little voice, as small as it may be, slowly eats away at your confidence until there is nothing left...unless you learn how to diminish it.…

    APUSH Student Debates

Every year after AP exams are over, APUSH students—old and current—ask teachers if they can miss their class period to watch the student debates. The hype surrounding these debates were mostly due to three reasons: the controversial topics, the “hot seat questions,” where students are placed on the spot much like in court, and of course, the opportunity to dress up. My partner and I chose to argue against the death penalty, and while I thought our in-class research sessions had been productive, a friend of mine told me she overheard my partner say otherwise in another class. Apparently, she was convinced that she would have to do all the work because “Dana never talks.…

This can impair my chances of gaining confidence as I do not feel comfortable placing myself in situations which result in feeling uncomfortable. Shives (2008) backs this up by saying an introverted person is not a natural leader, and experiences difficulty when placed in unknown situations. In addition Smyth (2008) says the lack of confidence can affect a student’s communication and interpersonal skills. In contrast with not feeling confident, my mentor commented that I am particularly good at looking and acting confident when communicating and caring for patients, even if I do not feel confident. For instance Belsi (2016) says being self-confident is incredibly important when interacting with patients, as it provides a respectable first impression creating a foundation to help build a relationship between them both.…

The aim of the health promotion strategy was to develop the personal skills of the target group, since the majority of the target group had witnessed cyber bullying previously (refer to Appendix, Figure 3, Graph 3). A health promotion strategy was developed to enhance their knowledge, behaviour and amend their attitudes to positively address cyber bullying situation in the role of bystander, which in turn create a supportive environment at MSHS. Before conducting the health promotion strategy, a pre-survey was conducted during 35 minute lesson to evaluate the current knowledge of the group (refer to Appendix, Figure 1). After evaluating the knowledge of the group from the pre-survey, it was evident that approximately over 62% and 68.75% of the students did not understand cyber bullying and bystander respectively. Therefore, a series of activities were developed into a lesson plan to address the lack of knowledge of the target group, in order to improve their personal skills (refer to Appendix, Figure 2).…

I know I have trouble with being sure of myself and being confident in what I can do on the field. Although, I am a player that wants to be successful more than anything else in the world I am willing to go through anything and everything you can think of if it will make me a better athlete. When I read Coach Wooden’s book I realized you need poise and confidence in order to reach all the success you want and that really changed me, because I have that motivation and that drive to be successful in every way that I can. Also, poise and confidence weren’t just on the pyramid of success they were at the very top on the second row on this pyramid, so that just goes to show that confidence and poise are two things I really should work on as a person and as an athlete if I want to reach all the potential I know I can. Since I am motivated to be the best I can be, since I have that competitive fire to have all the potential in the world I read this book…

After a thorough analysis of Dr. Joseph’s speech, one can conclude that he uses a problem and solution structure throughout his speech.
