Dr Grimesby Roylott Research Paper

Sherlock Holmes was not guilty for the accidental death of Dr. Grimesby Roylott. A multitude of examples support this claim. First, Sherlock Holmes protected himself from a poisonous snake. Holmes was not just going to await to be bitten by a snake and perish miserably. A second thought is that Sherlock Holmes had not a clue of where Dr. Roylott was located in the chamber adjacent to the one he held a secretive stakeout inside of. Finally, the audience can agree that Dr. Roylott should have been more precautious. Roylott, he was led to his own demise solely due to the fact that he was in the wrong place. This supports that Holmes was not responsible for the death of Dr. Roylott. Humans do not posses the power to see through walls. Julia Stoner’s chamber and Dr, Roylott’s chamber were separated by a solid stone wall. Holmes could have had no clue as to where Roylott resided as he fought back the snake. This deems him unworthy of the title of Dr. Roylott’s murderer. For Homes’ knowledge, Grimesby could have been in the opposing corner of the room or anywhere that keeps him out of harms’ way. Although this was not the case at all. Grimesby decided it would be clever for him to rest right next to where an angered, deadly snake would be slithering out of. This was in fact not an intelligent decision for a man of such aptitude. Any man with a half a brain would know to keep away from the ventilator. Dr. Roylott should have been more precautious as well as methodical with his actions after he sent the Swamp Adder through the ventilator to hopefully kill his step

Greene knew of the British Army’s advancements and had set up three lines of defense to fight the British, whose army was under half the size and was weary from traveling. The three lines of defense ended up dividing the militia into smaller sections the British Army could take on, causing the Continental Army to lose the battle. “The Battle of Guilford Courthouse” plaque in the Visitor Center of the park depicts the American general’s main goal for dividing his men by stating, “Greene’s plan threw away the overwhelming American advantage of numbers … intent on crippling—rather…

The writer Robert E. Rubin, began his piece with how he became a treasury secretary in 1995, this is one way that the writer established his credibility. Throughout his piece he is making claims that the economy needs the poor just as much as the poor needs them. Since Rubin was a treasury secretary (1995-199) the tone of his piece was assertive. Finally, Rubin uses statistics as evidence to support his claims about the importance of the poor. For starters, Rubin made a claim that anti poverty programs like: “ Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, often called food stamps) and other safety-net programs,” serves a serious role for the economy.…
